Life was harder
Before the pipeline
Before the pipeline was built in Bimire, families were walking for hours each day to collect water. Women and girls as six years old, carrying basket loads of water weighing up to 50kg, several times a day for all of their families needs.
What changed
With a pipeline?
Once the clean water pipeline was completed, water became available directly in the village with each of the 112 homes in Bimire getting it's own tap connected. This immediately reduced the physical burden on families and freed up hours of time every day, as well as improving sanitation, hygenie and living standards in the village.
The Long term impact
Fresh water can bring
With reliable access to water, many families are now able to keep livestock such as buffalo, creating a steady source of income through milk production. This shift doesn’t just improve daily life, it creates long term financial stability and better opportunities for the next generation.
