home is
where the heart is
TBF is partnered with Namaste Homestay, situated in the village of Syampati, just 5km from Bimire, where we completed our first clean water project. The homestay offers a unique opportunity for visitors to experience rural Nepal while staying within a local community. Ian has been friends with the owner, Prem for 18 years at the time of writing and their love remains strong. If it wasn't for meeting Prem, TBF would probably never have happened.
let's go
take a hike
From the homestay, guests can take guided hikes through the surrounding villages of Suara, Cheggin and Bimire, seeing first-hand the impact of our water pipeline projects. Rather than just reading about the work, visitors are able to walk the same routes, meet the families involved, and understand what access to clean water really means for daily life in these communities.
and grab
a basket
This connection between tourism and community development is a key part of what we’re building. Many guests take part in a Doku Challenge of their own, and raise funds for us. The homestay provides an additional source of income for local families, as well as giving visitors a genuine, on the ground insight into sustainable development in rural Nepal.
