Summer 2026

Thirsk and Hampton Gardens

Two schools joined us in Bimire this summer: Thirsk School & Sixth Form from North Yorkshire and Hampton Gardens School from Peterborough. All teams from both schools got stuck right in to working on pipeline project work in Cheggin.

Summer 2026

Building the taps

They dug foundations, mixed and laid concrete bases, and carried bricks and soil up and down the hillside paths to build columns for taps, which will soon bring clean drinking water closer to families' homes.

Between all three groups we hosted in July, the students built 20 taps of the total 35 needed in Cheggin!

October 2026

A spruce up for the Bimire nursery school

Our October group, Clayesmore School from Dorset, aged 15 to 17, gave the village school a complete makeover. They cleared the grounds, built a brick wall flower bed, planted a couple of fruit trees and gave the place a seriously bright new face lift.

Thank you

Worlds apart, and back again

Bimire is a very different place to the schools these students go to every day. They stepped well outside their comfort zones, and they made a real difference to people far less fortunate than themselves. A huge thank you to every student, teacher and World Challenge leader who joined us this year, and to our team on the ground. Bring on 2027!
